Insomnia Review: Royal Wedding - He Liked It And Put A Ring On It (After A Struggle)
This wedding was so precisely planned it was like Oprah herself was in charge of it. The arrivals to the church were literally to the minute. It was interesting to watch everyone arrive and funny how the focus was on Elton John and The Beckhams since they are about the only people Americans would recognize.
It was funny to see Prince William when he entered Westminster Abbey and took off his hat to show his balding head with hat hair. I liked the commentary that one of the broadcasters provided stating how Harry makes fun of William for being bald while William makes fun of Harry for being ginger: checkmate William!
Watching people proceed in I noticed how Prince Harry has a bit of a swagger in his walk like he didn't give a what because he is the shit, that was cool. Harry had some ADHD up on the alter; he seemed a little fidgety at first and it was funny how he looked back to peek at Kate.
It was cute to see how happy William and Kate were and how he whispered to her that she looked beautiful. A moment worth noting was when William was placing the ring on Kate's finger; that did not look like it was going to fit, that would have been embarrassing. I thought someone was going to have to whip out some PAM from their purse.
Did anyone else wish one of the exes that was invited to the wedding would have objected? How epic would that have been with a billion people watching especially if one of them ran out of the church with another person. I would have settled for someone with an ill-timed sneeze or cough during that moment.
The British accents throughout the ceremony and broadcasting were enjoyable especially the black woman who used to handle press for the family who was commentating; she had a wonderful voice and if I could have had a nanny as a child, I would have wanted her to sound like that woman. The accents were very reminiscent of Harry Potter.
Alexander McQueen and suicide: that was mentioned at least a half dozen times which is a little creepy on the day of a wedding. Everytime they mentioned the dress they exclaimed how the designer killed himself a year ago; not in the best taste, people can google that later.
