Women Health Problems

Women Health Problems
There are a variety of womens health problems that require specifc attention and specific treatment and action. Luckily, many of these problems, though they can be distressing and painful to experience, can be dealt with both simply and effectively. Some womens health problems will require a bit more effort than others, but virtually all can be eliminated if proper natural health steps are taken to eliminate the causes.Breast cancer is the second most common type of cancer after lung cancer in Pakistan and ranked first in the Pakistani women. There is a significant increase in the number of cases in Pakistan has since the 1970s, partly due to the modern lifestyles in the Upper class.
The main cause of breast cancer is still unknown but different factors can become the cause. The risk factors that can trigger the disease are sex, age, childbearing, hormones, a high-fat diet, alcohol intake, obesity, and environmental factors such as tobacco use and radiation. Every time you ovulate you form an ovarian cyst, a fluid-filled sac with an egg in it. After the egg is released the cyst usually goes away, but occasionally it persists--or continues to grow--and may cause lower abdominal pain. If you suspect you have a persistent cyst, get a pelvic exam or ultrasound to be sure. Then try any or all of these treatments.

Women And Health

Women And Health
The health of women and girls is of particular concern because, in many societies, they are disadvantaged by discrimination rooted in sociocultural factors. For example, women and girls face increased vulnerability to HIV/AIDS.Women and men have many of the same health problems, but they can affect women differently. For example, women may have different symptoms of heart disease. Some diseases or conditions are more common in women, such as osteoarthritis, obesity and depression. And some conditions, such as menopause and pregnancy, are unique to women.Women & Health publishes original papers and critical reviews containing highly useful information for researchers, policy planners, and all providers of health care for women. These papers cover findings from studies concerning health and illness and physical and psychological well-being of women, as well as the environmental, lifestyle and sociocultural factors that are associated with health and disease, which have implications for prevention, early detection and treatment, limitation of disability and rehabilitation.  The Women and Health Initiative’s research, education, communications, and other programs are rooted in the belief that healthier women mean stronger societies and investments in the health and empowerment of women are investments in social and economic development.

This is a time of great needs in the women’s health arena, but also of unprecedented opportunity. More than ever before, the global development community has recognized the improvement of women’s health and the achievement of gender equality as critical priorities.

Health Tips For Kids

Health Tips For Kids
It is important to encourage breakfast. A good night’s sleep followed by food in the morning helps your child to stay active and concentrate at school. It also means your child is less likely to be too hungry during the morning and it can help with performance at school. Be a role model and let your child see you eat breakfast too. Many more children in the United States are being diagnosed with high cholesterol, or as overweight or obese. These conditions can cause many health problems for your child, such as diabetes and high blood pressure. You don't have to give up foods like hamburgers, french fries and ice cream to eat healthy. You just have to be smart about how often and how much of them you eat. Your body needs nutrients like protein, carbohydrates, fat and many different vitamins and minerals such as vitamins C and A, iron and calcium from a variety of foods.the biggest mistake some parents execute is thinking that being cooped up inside the house is better for the kids. They turn the television into some sort of babysitter for the child. You do not want your child to become a couch potato at such a young age. Kids have all this energy that’s supposed to be spent playing and finding out more about the world. If they don’t spend that energy, it becomes grand. And having a bulky child does not necessarily equal to having a healthy child. Try to wait on play and even sports for your kids.

Planning To Get Pregnant

Planning To Get Pregnant
Planning before you get pregnant is very important. Simply put, the healthier you are as you are planning your pregnancy, the more likely you are to have a healthy baby. We hope you'll start planning for pregnancy as soon as you begin to have thoughts about having a baby.

A baby's organs begin to form in the first few weeks of pregnancy, before you may know that you are pregnant. As this is a critical phase of development, the more planning you do, the greater the pay off can be in terms of the health of your baby. Unfortunately, there are no foolproof methods for having a healthy baby, but there are many things you can do that may improve your chances of a good outcome. This leaflet offers advice if you are planning to become pregnant, or have just become pregnant. The aim is to reduce the risk of harm to the baby, and to reduce the risk of pregnancy complications. There is a summary checklist at the end of the leaflet.deally, start taking folic acid tablets before becoming pregnant. The common advice is to start from the time you plan to become pregnant. If the pregnancy is unplanned then start taking folic acid tablets as soon as you know that you are pregnant. However, a recent study looked at the effect of taking folic acid for a year prior to becoming pregnant. This study looked at the effect folic acid had on reducing preterm labour and delivery of the baby (that is, of having a 'prem' baby). The study found a significant decrease in the rate of preterm delivery for women who took folic acid for one year prior to becoming pregnant. So, you may wish to consider taking folic acid tablets well before you plan to become pregnant.

Because of the substantial benefits of folic acid, some countries routinely fortify staple foods such as wheat, cornflour, or rice with folic acid. Currently there is debate as to whether the UK should follow suit and fortify certain common foods with folic acid. For a woman, pregnancy is one of the most exciting and important journey’s she can ever go through in life.  When a woman is considering whether or not to become pregnant, there should be several things taken into account prior to trying.  Changes might need to be made to the diet, lifestyle and finances before, during and after the birth, which will directly influence the lives of the mother and father of an infant.

Planning to get pregnant is something that should be addressed as early as possible; it takes a long time and cannot be rushed.  The main goal of pregnancy planning is to decide upon the best possible timeframe for a couple to conceive a child.  The mother needs to be in tip-top health, medical care will be needed for the woman and child and the parents need to create the best environment possible when welcoming a baby into their life.

Another common factor when considering the best time to become pregnant should be the health of the mother.  A woman should observe proper nutrition, regularly exercise, monitor vitamin intake and consult with a physician about any preexisting health conditions before becoming pregnant.  With approximately 40% of all pregnancies being unplanned in the United States, women that preplan certain aspects prior to conception are ensuring their child the best start in life and can have a much happier, healthier pregnancy.

Pregnancy Healthy

Pregnancy Healthy
Trying for a baby? Being healthy before, during and after pregnancy involves so many different aspects of your life. So, I've compiled a quick list to help you stay on the healthy side.

   1. See your practitioner before becoming pregnant.
   2. Start changing your food habits to include a healthy variety of foods.
   3. Exercise! Starting now will help you stay in shape during pregnancy, can lower your risk of miscarriage, and has been proven to help reduce labor complications and length.
   4. Educate yourself! Almost all pregnant women need to get more protein, more of certain vitamins and minerals such as folic acid and iron, and more calories (for energy). If your diet is poor to begin with, making the transition to eating nutritious meals is one of the best things you can do for your baby's health.

But eating better doesn't mean eating more – or rather, not much more. If you start off at a healthy weight, you need no extra calories during the first trimester, about 300 extra calories a day in the second trimester, and about 450 extra calories a day in the third trimester. If you're overweight or underweight, you'll need more or less than this, depending on your weight gain goal.Eating a healthy diet during pregnancy is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your baby. After all, the food you eat is your baby's main source of nutrition. Smart choices about pregnancy nutrition can help you promote your baby's growth and development. Check out these guidelines, designed for a 25-year-old woman who has a normal weight and gets 30 to 60 minutes of exercise a day. If you're older, overweight, or follow a more or less intense workout program, your nutritional needs might differ. To find the plan that's right for you, visit the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Daily Food Plan for Moms. If you have a medical condition it is important that you see your GP to discuss your planned pregnancy. A healthy body will increase the likelihood of you having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. The following are a few guidelines to help you prepare your body for pregnancy.
Eat a healthy diet

Eating well before you are pregnant gives your body a store of nutrients for your baby, especially if you have a poor appetite during the first few weeks of pregnancy.
Try to be the correct weight for your heightSee a doctor as soon as possible after you find out you're pregnant to begin getting prenatal care (medical care during pregnancy). The sooner you start to get medical care, the better your chances that you and your baby will be healthy.

If you can't afford to go to a doctor or clinic for prenatal care, social service organizations can help you. Ask your parent, school counselor, or another trusted adult to help you locate resources in your community.

During your first visit, the doctor will ask you lots of questions, including the date of your last period. This helps the doctor estimate how long you have been pregnant and your due date.

Doctors measure pregnancies in weeks. A baby's due date is only an estimate, though: Most babies are born between 38 and 42 weeks after the first day of a woman's last menstrual period, or 36 to 40 weeks after conception (when the sperm fertilizes the egg).

How To Get Pregnant

How To Get Pregnant
This is where most couples fail to focus on when they finally decide that they want to have a baby. They don't think about the most enjoyable part (otherwise known as making love) because they only think that they must do the deed in order to have the woman pregnant.

However, getting pregnant all starts with both parties as a couple, and never really with one party's desire to get pregnant. If you have tried to make love without visiting the doctor in the past, but you were not successful, perhaps a check-up would do you good. An obstetrician-gynecologist can help you determine if you need to be on special supplements to get pregnant, or if you have to take some vitamins. f not, he or she can always give some advice on the best ways for you two to have your own baby. By having this check-up, you'd also see if you are fit to be pregnant, and that there won't be any risks for your would-be baby or for you should the pregnancy push through. Always check with your doctor and you would have peace of mind.o If you're a woman, keep those pills inside the medicine cabinet. It's the same for him. Of course, if you finally decide to get pregnant, you should stop all birth-control methods. With the pill, it's best to stop it a month or two before your plan to conceive because it may still have some effects on your body for the next weeks. Don't expect to stop taking it today, and then get pregnant tomorrow. Get yourself into 'mommy shape' first before assuming to be a mom - and the thing should go with the dad.You make love because you want to make love since you both feel united and good when you do that. You don't have to think about 'I should be pregnant,' or 'I should get her pregnant' while you both get it on. Keeping those thoughts in your mind would just make you feel pressured and stressed.

o Do away with stress and all negative feelings because they have a great impact on both of your reproductive systems and can be a factor for not getting pregnant. Aren't you sometimes surprised that those who try hard to be pregnant are the ones who are not getting pregnant, while those who simply enjoy making love or who don't try hard are the ones who are getting pregnant? It's because of the fact that they enjoy and they don't try to be pregnant.

Health Care For Women

Health Care For Women
Women account for as much as 70 percent of the world’s poor. 1
A woman living in sub-Saharan Africa has a 1 in 16 chance of dying during pregnancy or childbirth – compared with 1 in 3,700 in North America. 2
Violence against women is as serious a cause of death among women of reproductive age as cancer. 3
In the developing world as a whole, one third of all pregnant women receive no health care during pregnancy. 4
Every year, an estimated 4 million women and girls are bought and sold worldwide, through forced prostitution, slavery or forced marriage.  These women are particularly at risk for unwanted pregnancy and unsafe abortion, and sexually-transmitted infections, including HIV. 5

Recognizing the many links between social and economic inequalities and women’s health challenges, GHETS works with an international network of universities, policy makers and community leaders in developing countries to improve the health of women and their families.
