I Was Just Thinking: Norah Jones and Scott Peterson

I was listening to my ipod and heard Norah Jones's Don't Know Why and remembered what a nice jam it was. Norah Jones always reminds me of Scott Peterson because he gave that Amber Fry lady her "Come Away With Me" album. I like that album too. It also reminds me to never bleach my hair because you look like a smacked ass when you really have dark hair.

I Was Just Thinking: My New Jacket Makes Me Look Like Paddington Bear!

I just bought a jacket the other day at Old Navy thinking it would be a decent spring/rainy kind of day jacket. I tried it on and liked it, and still do. I realized today that although I like it and I like the blue color, it more than slightly resembles Paddington Bear! This is not a sexy look unless you are going for that underage demographic or MILFs/GILFs.

I Was Just Thinking: Origin of Teardrop Tattoos

As a pale person who works in West Philadelphia I see many tattoos and have seen several teardrop tattoos on a daily basis and get frightened by them from my limited knowledge of them so I wonder what they mean. According to Wikipedia and various other sources the tattoo is originally from the Chicano (Mexican) gangs in California dating back to the 1940's. The original meaning of the tattoo was that the tatted person had killed someone. Modern interpretations of the tattoo range from that person having killed someone especially to show fellow prisoners of their murderous status or that the person had lost a loved one.

Types of Teardrop Tattoos:

1. Open Teardrop - This tattoo is the unfilled version and originally meant the wearer had killed someone

2. Closed Teardrop - This is the filled in version and originally meant that the person had lost a loved one

3. Half-filled Teardrop - This is obviously half filled in and apparently means that the wearer has had a loved one killed and has also murdered that loved ones assailant.

4. The White Person Teardrop - there is also a trend of white people getting teardrop tattoos on their fingers that are in memory of a loved one or just there as an ironic tattoo. Oh hipsters!

Basically teardrop tattoos are scary and not classy and if you see a half-filled teardrop RUN!

I Was Just Thinking:

I wish I invented popcorn ceiling! How rich is that guy!

Shout out to Dennis!

One night I was with a friend, Dennis, and we can be idiots together like its no big deal. So we were watching Tracy Morgan's comedy special which was awesome and comment worthy on its own and it got quiet; so I randomly looked up at the ceiling and said "man, I wish I invented popcorn ceiling, how rich is that guy!" So naturally I researched popcorn ceiling, and by research I mean Wikipedia. Popcorn Ceiling was apparently used to cover faults, so basically people were doing shotty work and covering it up America style. One of the best definitions of popcorn ceiling is obviously from the genius' at Urban Dictionary:

"The cheap ceiling texture commonly used in the 70s and 80s. Builders would spray 'popcorn' on the ceilings of homes and justify it to sellers by feeding them a line of bull about better sound insulation or better appearance. The real reason for the 'popcorn' it turns out is because its cheap and if a builder does have to pay some guy to texture and paint every ceiling, it can save them some serious money. The 'popcorn' unfortunately does nothing for sound insulation (though there might still be those today who claim it does) and it's pretty damn ugly, especially as it collects dirt over time.
Omg! That sauce just got all up in the popcorn ceiling! That shit is never coming off!"

Some other notable google searches provided these gems:

I personally think popcorn ceiling was invented by the Devil himself and should be outlawed. I have strong feelings about few things but some include popcorn ceiling, the proper way to put the toilet paper on the roll (cough kate), and proper hanger alignment and direction on clothes hung in the closet.

moral of the story: take that shit down!
